Royal Psalms - Dig Lyrics
I was a ghost town,I was a gold seeker,Looking for the mother-load.In a crowd of poisonous people.Looking for something,While I was trying to get found,Like there was a whole life waiting,That was never mine for the taking.I should have put that shovel down,I should have put that shovel down,Because pretending to be deep never got me anywhere.I've been digging digging diggingDigging for years.I've been digging digging diggingDigging for years. And I'm pretty sure there's nothing buried hereI've been digging digging diggingDigging for yearsSame story again,It was a shot in the arm,Sometimes I wish it was a shot in the head.I'd stake my claim then excavate that gravel bed.But all hope was dead,All of those things I knew were right,All of the things I did instead.I should have put that shovel down,I should have put that shovel down,Because pretending that I cared never got me anywhere.I've been digging digging diggingDigging for yearsI've been digging digging diggingDigging for yearsAnd I'm pretty sure there's nothing buried hereI've been digging digging diggingDigging for yearsAnd I'm still digging. Finally my blurry eyes come clear,The day I gave up hope I gave up fear.I've been digging digging diggingDigging for yearsI've been digging digging diggingDigging for yearsAnd I'm pretty sure there's nothing buried hereI've been digging digging diggingDigging for yearsAnd I'm still digging
