[ VERSE 1 ]Here we go, pull up a chair and gather closeAnd check out the man that has the mostS-o-u-lAnd that's soul, for those who can't spellSoul is the music's basic foundationSoon as it's heard, you feel a sensationSo pump it up till your eardrum's ripped downAin't got soul, then you might as well skip townNo rock 'n roll, only soul allowed hereBlack and I'm proud, cause I make a crowd cheerAnd if you haven't been toldEverything that I touch just turns to soul[ VERSE 2 ]Crystal clear, smooth and impeccableI turn one rhyme into a record full>From letters to words and words to a sentenceI turn out shows for the hoes in attendanceSo get up and shake your ass till your pants ripStay on a dance tip and watch the man flip>From page to page, paragraph to chapterStraight up and down, no time for laughterCause I don't play when it comes to thisI mean business, and I'm dead up seriousCause this is somethin I don't take lightlyYou gotta be a damn fool to fight meCause fake MC's and enemies get no pointsPut up your dukes, if you want we can throw jointsThen in the end you'll agreeYou ain't even got half as much soul as meI got soul in my ankles, soul in my hipsSoul in my back and soul in my fingertipsIn my shoulders and in my wristI even got soul in my penis[ VERSE 3 ]Mandatory, I got to hear someMusic inside my eardrumFast or slow - makes no differentialWhether vocal or instrumentalAs long as the beat is strong and it sound goodThen play it, anybody who's down wouldBut if it ain't got soul, then don't botherAll praise is due to the new godfatherAnd that's the Grand Daddy USo watch out, you're bout to get stepped toI'm on the roll with bold soul powerThose who withhold I scold and then devourSo let the soul be heardCause it's preferred, and that's word to Big BirdSo break out the box, put it on the callGet this jam and you won't be boredI guarantee, you won't dare erase itSo face it, what can replace it? BasicallyNothin, heavy metal or soft popCountry western or folk - come on, stopIt ain't nothin like good old soulAnd you can ask J.B. if he makes paroleBut meanwhile, just take it from meDaddy U, Eazy Rick and Kay CeeWe form a team like _Three The Hard Way_Chumps soft as butter'll melt like parkayBut Steady Flow'll stand tallAll for one, and one for allSo hit that piano and throw on a drum beatBut without the soul it still ain't completeSo leave it up to the UAnd the jam'll be platinum before I'm through
