Emerald - Bard of the King Lyrics
Once upon a timeWhen heroes walked the earthBards were singing aloudOf deeds so proud and fineA young singer roseTo the bard that the king choseEngaged for telling liesThe sinister he deniesBard of the kingHe's cursed to singLies about tales'cause the king never failsNo freedom, no choiceAbout his own voiceThe king as dragonstayerWith force, a demonkillerA saviour of maidensInvented deeds to deceive historyHe let his soldiers fightFor himself and his rightThe bard was singing loudOf the king as warrior proudBard of the kingHe's cursed to singLies about tales'cause the king never failsNo freedom, no choiceAbout his own voiceNo freedom to winAs bard of the kingHe quit his cursed jobTo sing now for the mobSoon he was found deadA bloody mess in his bedNo one betrays the kingNo freedom to winBard of the kingHe's cursed to singLies about tales'cause the king never failsNo freedom, no choiceAbout his own voice
