Cletis Carr - Low Rent Part Of Town Lyrics
My family ain't got money, I still wear hand-me-downsWe live in a shack by the freight train trackIn the low rent part of townMy girl that I wanna marry, she's from a wealthy backgroundShe can't date or associate with a boyFrom the low rent part of townSome day we'll be together, she'll wear that wedding gownUntil then I'll spend my days, in the low rent part of townI got me a job with the circus, working the merry-go-roundIt's the best I can do cause they closed all the schoolsIn the low rent part of townI saved up all my money, so I could take her for a big night outBut her dad said go back to my own kindIn the low rent part of townSome day we'll be together, she'll wear that wedding gownUntil then I'll spend my days, in the low rent part of townIn this world, there's two kinds of people, those with money and those withoutAnd I'll scrimp and scrape so I can escape, From the low rent part of townI hope we'll be together, I hope she'll wear that gownI'll spend my days and my lonely nightsIn the low rent part of townSome day we'll be together, she'll wear that wedding gownUntil then I'll spend my daysIn the low rent part of town
