Poor Old Lu - Hope For Always Lyrics
Perhaps our song with the highest "twang factor", Hope For Always was consistently a good concert song. Maybe it was the very fast tempo, the praise-ful "cry" in the lyrics, or the western theme. Who knows. This song has always been very different from other Lu songs... and that's ok.I'm not entirely sure that I understand every line in this song, to be perfectly honest. There is a picture, verse by verse, of struggle. There is also a picture of a hope that is only found in "You", that is, Jesus Christ. As we struggle and fail, He can lift us up and make good out of what seems only bad, but we have to go to Him on our knees. Finally, the song wraps up with simple truth... "You, with love and truth, will make us new, and will hold us thru..."when 'all is mine' is overwould You have the time, my friendto push me up and overhold me till the glory end, andwhen my pain is soberwould You have the mind to sendhope for always everhold me - this wicked man andme, with pain and allmight take the fallyet grow so talland creeping like a wonderis the fear that drives me mad"that all is going under, all is always ever sad" andthrowing winter summerand breezing me to my greedbut give me hope for always'all' is falling on my knees andYou, with love and truthwill make us newand will hold us thruthe sins of the world wouldn't hold Youthough it seems each day i tryplease, bless me with hope for alwaysthat i might live, might die andme, with pain and allmight take the fallyet grow so tallYou, with love and truthwill make us newand will hold us thru
