John Mcdermott - Friend Like You Lyrics
I dont have to look any furtherLike I always used to doNo searching for some other unknown mystic loverNow Ive found the perfect friend in youThere are those Ive known for a lifetimeOthers, theyre brand newThey come through lucky chance,Some from brief romancesTheyd all love to have a friend like youBut you took me by supriseI wasnt ready for youSomething flashed before my eyesSuddenly I adored you, adored youI was never terminal lonelyFrom my sheltered point of viewMy life was kind of simple, I hadnt built a templeDedicated to a friend like youOn the way from cradle to tombstoneThere may be a lucky fewWho sail through life untroubled,Floating on the bubblesIn the wake of special friends like youWhen you took me by surpriseI couldnt help but allowOne day vague, the next day wiseTo love you beyond tomorrow, tomorrowYou took me by surpriseI wasnt thinking of youSuddenly realizedHow much I really loved you, I love youNow I dont need to look any furtherLike I always used to doNo searching for some unknown mystic loverNow Ive found the perfect friend in youNow Ive found the perfect friend in youOh my perfect friend how I love you
