John Farnham - Sadie, The Cleaning Lady Lyrics
Sadie, the cleaning ladyWith trusty scrubbing brush and pail of waterWorked her fingers to the bone, for the life she had at homeProviding at the same time for her daughterAhh Sadie, the cleaning ladyHer aching knees not getting any youngerWell her red detergent hands, have for years not held a man'sAnd time would find her heart expired of hungerScrub your floors, do your chores, dear old SadieLooks as though you'll always be a cleaning ladyCan't afford to get bored dear old SadieLooks as though you'll always be a cleaning ladyAhh Sadie, the cleaning la-adyHer female mind would find a way of trappingThough as gentle as a lamb, Sam the elevator manSo she could spend the night by TV, nappingAhh Sadie, the cleaning ladyHer aching knees not getting any youngerWell her red detergent hands, have for years not held a man'sAnd time would find her heart expired of hungerAhh, scrub your floors, do your chores, dear old SadieLooks as though you'll always be a cleaning ladyCan't afford to get bored dear old SadieLooks as though you'll always be a cleaning ladyAhh Sadie, the cleaning ladyHer Sam was what she got, hook, line and sinkerTo her sorrow and dismay, she's still working to this dayHer Sam turned out to be a nervous figureAhh, scrub your floors, do your chores, dear old SadieLooks as though you'll always be a cleaning ladyCan't afford to get bored dear old Sadie (fade)
