Jim Caroll - I Want The Angel Lyrics
I want the angelWhose dreams are fatalThey cause the snakes milk to run and curdleI want the angelWhose darkness doublesIt absorbs the brilliance of all my troublesI want the angelThat will not shatterEvery time I whisper, girl it does not matterI want the angelWhos got the proofShe signals her devotion from the rails on the roofI want the angelThat comes to stayShe dont let lawyers and ambition lead her awayI want the angelWhose eyes are ravingWho takes what Im giving and not what Im savingI want the angelWhose bones are so sharpThat they can break through their own excusesWell, to be a blind man,Hey, that would be a fine thingThen I could dream at night of total strangersAnd all the music would be so spacelessAnd all the women would be so faceless,Theyd be so faceless theyd be like old filmJust like old film I never did processI want the angelThat knows the skyShe got virtue, she got the parallel light in her eyeI want the angelThats partly lameShe filters clarity from her desperate shameI want the angelThat knows rejectionWhos like a whore in love with her own reflectionI want the angelWhose touch dont missWhen the blood comes through the dropper like a thick red kissIf I could break through I could be certainBut this obsession is like some fiery curtainAll the numbers reduced to zeroAnd those who died young, they are my heroesThey are my heroes, they took the walkWhere the heart made sense and the mind cant talkI want the angelWhose child dont weepShes got dreams designed for eternal sleepI want the angelThat will not changeInto a four-legged monster in love with the strangeI want the angelThat never choosesAnd dont come running back every time she losesBut I want the angel that never loses
