Garth Brooks - The Old Stuff Lyrics
Oh I said a little prayer tonightBefore I came on stageAs I came walkin past the drivers and the locals on the union wageI asked the dear lord up in heavenLet me treat the music rightThen I prayed that detroitGoes wild tonight.Seven pickers and all our gear in a rental vanPlayin music never sleepin and workin on a neon tanWe played the barn down in sanford floridaFor bev roberts out in camden parkWe plugged it in up east at bull run and the place went dark.Back when the old stuff was newBack before the buses and the hard workin boys in the crewIt was one big partyBut the business called it payin our duesBack when the old stuff was new.Oh the stories we could tellIf it werent for the code of the roadAbout the buckboard, bear creek, cowboys, and the grizzly roseYou know the weather turned bad in scottsdaleA tornado nearly stole the showWe just danced in the rain and listened to the thunder roll.Back when the old stuff was newHats off to the k.c. opry and ella gurusIt was one big partyUncle joe you know we owe it to youBack when the old stuff was new.No rules young fools comin from the old schoolTakin on the world aloneNext date cant wait tearin up the interstateEvery place we played was homeBalls out no doubt this is what its all aboutBeggin for a place to playSwingin with our old friendsPrayin that it never endsWouldnt trade a single day.Back when the old stuff was newBack before the buses and the hard workin boys in the crewIt was one big partyBut the papers called it payin our duesBack when the old stuff was new.Hey its still one big partyYou can call it whatever you chooseYou make me feel like the old stuff is new
