Gang Starr - Jazz Music Lyrics
[guru]The music started in the hearts and drums, from another landPlayed for everyone, by sons, of the motherlandSendin out a message of peace, to everybody andCame across the oceans in chains and shameEasing the pain, and it was without nameUntil some men in new orleans on rampart streetPut out the sounds, and then they gave it a beatIm talkin bout jelly roll, king, and satchIm talkin bout the music that had no matchYes the music, and it was born down thereWere gonna use it, so make the horn sound clearIts jazz music... jazz musicYo, the music that pops, and other cats madeIt stayed, cause people love when they playedTo the north, it took a riverboat shuffleTo the big cities, with lots of hustle and bustleTo chicago, and to the apple tooThis was a scene, that our forefathers knewGo get your crew, I know theyll get intoThe jazz music... jazz musicThe music called jazz had the razzamatazzIt had the flavor, and a lot of pizazzThe big band beat was very neat and uniqueThe swing was king, it made you tap your feetThere was benny and duke and of course the count basieThe melody was smooth and yes, very tasteThere was hap, the prez, and lady day andDizzy bird and miles, they were all playinThey brought it to the people of the foreign landsBack across the oceans and the desert sandsWhere it echoes in the distant sounds of drumsAnd it rises with the sun on days begunThis is the music, that we give tribute toThey gave it to us, thats why we give it to youThe jazz music... the jazz musicThe jazz music... uh.. uh.. uh..
