David Bowie - The Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud Lyrics
Solemn facedThe village settles downUndetected by the starsAnd the hangman plays the mandolin before he goes to sleepAnd the last thing on his mindIs the wild eyed boy imprisonedNeath the covered wooden shaftFolds the ropeInto its bagBlows his pipe of smoldersBlankets smoke into the roomAnd the day will end for someAs the night begins for oneStaring through the message in his eyesLies a solitary sonFrom the mountain called freecloudWhere the eagle dare not flyAnd the patience in his sighGives no indicationFor the townsmen to decideSo the village dreadful yawnsPronouncing gross diversionAs the label for the dogOh its the madness in his eyesAs he breaks the night to cryIts really meReally youAnd really meIts so hard for us to really beReally youAnd really meYoull lose me though Im always really freeAnd the mountain moved its eyesTo the world of realizeWhere the snow had saved a placeFor the wild eyed boy from freecloudAnd the village dreadful criedAs the rope began to riseFor the smile stayed on the faceOf the wild eyed boy from freecloudAnd the women once proudClutched the heart of the crowdAs the boulders smashed down from the mountains handAnd the magic in the stareOf the wild eyed boy, saidStop, freecloudThey wont think to cut me downBut the cottages fellLike a playing card hellAnd the tears on the faceOf the wise boyCame trembling downTo the rumbling groundAnd the missionary mystic of peace/loveStumbled to cry among the cloudsKicking back the pebblesFrom the freecloud mountain track
